We had a wonderful day last Thursday when we all travelled to Lullymore heritage park! We discovered fairies, made wishes, swung on swings, explored ancient houses of the past, got to say hello to lots of friendly animals and travelled in style by train to discover the magical landscape of Lullymore. A wonderful day of magic and adventure which we will never forget! Active Week: Well what a week it was! We had such fun running the block with the other classes, visiting the tennis courts, participating in novelty races, having senior sports day and dancing our hearts out at the danceathon. We're tired even saying the huge list of activities we had! What fun! Have a look at the pictures below: Aistear: We’ve been very busy in Aistear over the past couple of months. Two of our favourite topics were the restaurant and the airport. Have a look at us in action below Caterpillars: We were so lucky to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. Ms. Mahoney even arranged for us to have a special butterfly kits and we were able to witness the life cycle in action. We watched everyday and eventually saw the caterpillars turn into butterflies. School tour: We had such a fun time on our school tour to Lullymore. We saw lots of different animals, took a ride on the train and played in the playground. What a great day! We were able to bring our favourite teddy bear to accompany us on our picnic and we also brought our lunch. The sixth class children collected us in our classrooms and we made the short walk to Gerry, our Caretaker's wonderful garden. We chatted with the sixth class boys and girls on the way. When we arrived we left our bags and teddies down and played lots of fun games together. We then ate our lunch with the sixth class before we departed back to school. We saw Gerry's hen's and he even showed us some eggs that they had freshly laid. We had such a wonderful day that we will always remember. A big thank you to Gerry who so kindly let us use his garden for our picnic! |
