Junior Infants did a taste test for science week. Everyone was excited to learn what a taste test was and were eager to see which foods they got to taste. Everyone tried a bitter lemon, a salty crisp, some sour natural yoghurt and a sweet chocolate button. They had great fun! This November in Ms. Mahoney's class, the children are learning about the Doctors' Surgery in Aistear. They are singing the song 'Ms. Polly had a Dolly' and listening to the story 'Dr. Duck'. At the role play station, they are having a great time pretending to be doctors, nurses and patients. They are assembling Mr. Potato Head's 5 senses and playing in the small world. They are making body parts and bones with playdough and constructing doctor surgeries, doctor tables and chairs with the blocks.
Some hailed it as "the best day of school" so far when we dressed up as witches, wizards and a whole host of scary creatures for Halloween. Sixth Class accompanied us as we walked around the block. It was a spook-tacular way to spend the last day before midterm.
