Music

Not only is music on the curriculum here in Scoil an Linbh Íosa, but it is an integral part of school life. In class we follow the Music Box scheme. Music is a strong feature in our school assemblies which are held for major events in the school year including Hallowe’en, Christmas, St. Bridget’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and  End of Year.

Some classes visit the National Concert Hall each year for the Music in the Classroom concerts. Preparation courses are followed by these classes before they attend.

Our music resources are many and varied with a wide range of music, songs and percussion instruments.

The school choir is made up of children from 3rd to 6th who sing at school masses, concerts, communions and confirmations.

It is through our choir that the children learn about supporting one another during special occasions.
