We are so happy to be starting second class. We are looking forward to our First Holy Communion, sports day and school tours. Check in on us regularly to see what we get up to!
A big hello from everyone in second class in Ms. Fletcher's classroom. Here are some photos of our first couple of days back.
As it was our last few days together, Ms. Fletcher treated us to some lovely ice cream from Spar and then we headed to the playground! We loved our class this year and we're really going to miss being together!
We had great fun taking part in Active week. We really enjoyed activities such as junior sports day, hit the block and the danceathon. Check out some pictures of us below!
Well what a week it was! We had such fun running the block with the other classes, visiting the tennis courts, participating in novelty races, having junior sports day and dancing our hearts out at the danceathon. We're tired even saying the huge list of activities we had! What fun! Have a look at the pictures below:
We were so lucky to be able to go to Tayto Park this year on our school tour. We were super excited to visit this park and enjoy all the different rides with our unlimited wrist band. We played in playground and went on some really fast rides. We had such a good day and there were a lot of tired children and teachers on the journey home!
Both Ms. McDermott's and Ms. Fletcher's Second classes completed a country study on Spain over the last couple of weeks.
Their first task was to complete some research on the country at home. They then gathered together in school in their respective groups and collated all the information to put together some wonderful projects. Below you can see the children proudly presenting their projects:
On the Friday before the mid-term break, the children had a 'fiesta' to celebrate all their hard work. Here they had the opportunity to present their projects as well as tasting some Spanish cuisine - Tortilla and chorizo. We had a special visit from Andrea who is Ralph and Louis’ Spanish au pair. She cooked the delicious tortilla, spoke to each group about their projects and answered their questions.
We also tried out hand at some Flamenco dancing!
Everyone in second class is delighted to be back in school. We are all set for lots of learning and fun. We are particularly looking forward to our First Holy Communion and will be spending lots of time preparing for the big day! Stay tuned to our blog for lots of updates!
