Lots of events celebrated in Ms. Lowe's class over the last few weeks: Odd Sock Day, Yellow Day and a very busy Seachtain na Gaeilge. As well as enjoying the Ceili, Gaelic Football, and a table quiz. We wrote, planned and modelled in our own Fashion Show for the whole school. Check out our photos: Our 6th class all made a huge effort this year to dress up as our favourite characters from our favourite books. We also built reading dens in our classroom and read to the junior infants, who really enjoyed it. It was a very busy first half of the year from Christmas performances, run ins with the Gardaí and everything in between. Here’s hoping this term will be just as busy. We presented our SESE projects to the class on Google Slides. We had a variety of geography projects about Italy as well as history and science which looked at The Renaissance as well as artists and inventors like Leonardo da Vinci. Learning about light in science gave us the chance to work with mirrors. When we weren't too busy admiring ourselves, we did some mirror writing like Leonardo da Vinci, sketched our portrait by looking through the mirror (with comical results) and explored microscopes, telescopes, coloured light and the different lens types. As the 1st of February rolls around so too does a new season - Spring! However, we were more interested in celebrating St. Brigid's Day and what better way to mark this special occassion than by making our own St. Brigid's Day crosses. Check out the pictures below: Australia projects, clay, making S'mores, maths and more kept Ms. Lowe's 5th class very busy in term 1! Well done to all the boys and girls on a successful first term in fifth class! The last few weeks have been filled with concert practice, quizzes and Christmas fun along with a panto surprise from the PTA and a Santa visit. We celebrated the holidays today by making cookies and playing games! Check out some of our recent pictures here. 🎄🎅🏻 First two months in Ms.Lowe's 5th class included coding, Viking projects, Garda parade, beautiful works of art and Halloween fun. A huge WELL DONE to all the children who ran for election in the Student Council. Welcome to Ms. O' Connor's Fifth Class Blog. Here we are on our first day in our new class. Come and visit us here often where we will keep you updated on what we get up to!
