The first of Spring brought much happiness to Scoil an Linbh Íosa - a new season which is sure to be full of creativity and hard work but also a visit by the many grandparents of our pupils. As the clock struck 11am, the corridors were full with excited grandparents waiting to greet their special grandchildren and their teachers.
Our day began a special prayer service with the theme of 'Family' being at the forefront. Fr. Bill led us in prayer and the school choir filled the hall with the sound of sweet music. Many of the children performed poems or sang songs and even performed dramas to entertain their audience. The service finished with a sean nós brush dance by 5th and 6th class.
It was great to see so many Granddads, Grannies, Nannies, Papas and Mamós – or whatever name your grandchildren respectfully call you, with us yesterday. You were all very welcome. The boys and girls were so excited to invite you into their school. They wanted to show off their big bright classrooms full of displays of their hard work, their interesting work, their artistic work. They wanted to sing songs for you with their friends and they want to show you off to their classmates and teachers. We were delighted that so many of you made the effort to come and visit our school and share in this special occasion with your loved one. We look forward to many more of these happy occasions with you.
