We had a whole-school assembly today in the hall. Mr. Cassidy spoke to the children and a number of our student committees spoke to the entire school. The U11 girls were also presented with their Cumann na mBunscol medals. Check out below for more information!
Uniform:
Mr. Cassidy spoke about our school uniform. The teachers have noticed that in the last few weeks, some children are coming into school without their uniform.
In January we would like everyone to wear their uniform.
NB:
- no hoodies instead of uniform tops
- no branded tracksuit tops or pants
- no make-up
- no jewellery except for stud earrings
The uniform policy exists to take pressure off the children to keep up with their peers, so we do not want to see children starting to wear branded clothes, jewellery or make-up.
Active Committee
The Active Committee gave the results of the survey they carried out to see which equipment the children would like on yard.
In the New Year, the Active Committee will organise the distribution of this equipment on yard during break.
Green Schools Committee
The Green Schools Committee talked to the children about the most environmentally friendly ways to travel to school.
They also encouraged the children to recycle.
Student Council
The student council introduced themselves individually and let all the children know that they are always on hand if they have any issuees.
Girls Football Team
Ms Cox and Ms Lavin presented winners medals to the Cumann na mBunscol girls team who won the U11 final in October. Well done girls. A big thank you to Daragh Swords who presented these medals alongside them. See the pictures attached.
