We had a fantastic week celebrating books and reading in Scoil an Linbh Íosa as part of our World Book Day and Book Week activities.
Throughout the week, the children enjoyed a wide range of events designed to promote a love of reading across the school. Highlights included our Book Swap event, paired reading between classes, themed classroom activities, and the ever-popular World Book Day costumes, which brought many favourite book characters to life around the school.
Our Scholastic Book Fair was a major highlight of the week and created a real buzz about books and reading among the children. A sincere thank you to the staff volunteers who helped to run the Book Fair, to our sixth class students who carried out the bulk of the work so responsibly, and to all the parents and families who supported it so generously. Their support is greatly appreciated and, through Scholastic rewards, will help us secure free books for our school.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for stories, authors and reading for pleasure throughout the week. Well done to everyone for helping make Book Week such a success.
