Our first basketball league match saw us face Scoil Uí Riada, Kilcock, at home. Both boys and girls teams rose to the challenge and displayed great skill.
The boys were first up. It was a close game with two well matched teams but our boys edged ahead and overcame Kilcock 14 - 10. While all shots weren't on target, we showed great pace & pride to come out on top in the end.
The girls match followed in what was a solid display of skill. We got off to a flying start but Kilcock had some experienced club players who outmatched us. We dug deep however and persevered scoring some terrific shots. Despite a fine performance, Kilcock came out victors on a scoreline of 24 - 34.
Both teams will have to up their game for our next away outing to Caragh. We expect a full turnout at training this week. It will be our second league match and will decide our fate for after-Christmas fixtures.
