We had great fun partaking in the global 'Science Week' event. All the school class groups were given a topic which they had to investigate and sixth class were given the topic of Magnetism. The children were grouped accordingly and both Mr. Geaney and Ms. Smyth ran experiments in their classrooms. The children from each classroom were given the opportunity to swap to their neighbouring class and get a chance to try all the experiments at hand. We gained great knowledge from working with magnets, iron filings and different materials. The sixth class pupils celebrated their last day before the mid-term break with a Halloween inspired day. They enjoyed many fun activities that meant they left the school very excited for Halloween to come. In the morning, the sixth class pupils accompanied their Junior Infant partners on our annual 'Witch & Wizard' walk. The infants really enjoyed our company along the walk and the sixth class had to make sure they were all safe as we walked on the paths beside busy roads. We also had the opportunity to play some Halloween games such as Bob the Apple and Coin on flour. We really enjoyed our day!
