The children of Mr. Geaney's sixth class have been busy on the run-up to Christmas with project work. We have done extensive work on the Irish plantations and think of ourselves as experts after all our hard work. The children were assigned group partners and worked together over two weeks to produce some excellent projects. The children were given a marking scheme that they would have to follow and were shown where they gained points and how to improve even more in the future. Our winning group were given a little treat for their hard work!

One of our recent topics in Maths was Money and we got the opportunity to do a lot of work with different aspects of this topic. We explored VAT, foreign currencies and we also learned how to choose which deal is a better value. This will make our shopping trips to Tesco, Aldi and shops a like much more interesting. As we rounded off this topic, we completed stations that allowed us to use Ipads, question cards and different games, testing our abilities to deal with money. It was a very enjoyable experience.
