Mindrising 2016 is a nationwide competition for children and young adults celebrating 200 years of the island of Ireland - www.mindrising.ie A team of 13 boys and girls from 5th Class have been working hard for two months to build Kilmainham Gaol in Minecraft. They are representing Scoil an Linbh Íosa in the Mindrising 2016 nationwide competition. Here is a short film of their journey. Here in Scoil an Linbh Íosa, we are working towards getting an Active Flag. We have started an in-school initiative of the whole school moving for at least ten minutes a day, all at the same time, as well as introducing more activity on yard. We are now hoping to start another exercise initiative here in school, before classes start, for all children from infants to sixth class. We will be providing teacher led activities to get the children active for a few minutes before coming in in the mornings.
Children should arrive to the yard at 8.45am and will go straight to school at 9.05am. These sessions will run Monday-Friday and will begin Monday coming, the 25th April. Let's get Prosperous moving! |
