We made gingerbread houses together and packaged them up to what is to be a wonderful present for our loved ones:
We've had a very busy time in class this term and as it draws to a close before Christmas, lets look back at some of the special things we have done. We made gingerbread houses together and packaged them up to what is to be a wonderful present for our loved ones: To get ourselves into the festive mood we also painted the windows in the ALC. There really is a Christmassy feel around the building now with our Christmas inspired window displays: We also explored the moon and outer space in geography and created a wonderful display. We loved the quote - “It’s one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind”. We made rockets and space ships. It has been a very busy term in Ms. Byrne's class with lots of interesting activities and learning happening. We studied and investigated famous bridges. We designed our own bridges with a little help from our daddies and granddads, thank you. Classes came to our ‘Bridge Exhibition’. Halloween came by very quickly and on our last day of term we got to carve our very own pumpkins with the help of the adults in our class. Have a look at our creations below: To celebrate Science Week, We launched our own rockets🚀🚀 we used balloons and string, it was great fun!! After much work on dialogue, acting and costumes, the final production of 'IceCat and Firemouse' is complete. The children of Ms. Byrne's class created, directed and co-produced this amazing piece of video. Have a look at their creation below: We really enjoyed reading the novel The Twits. Afterwards we completed art work based on some of our favourite characters. Check out the pics below!
Miss. Kiely’s class had a very exciting start to the new school year. We began with Art but unusually did not use any brushes. We used our FEET!!! It was a very messy job but it was great fun! Today, the children had their school tour. They went to Rathbeggan Lakes, in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath. From the moment we got on the bus, everyone's excitement took over and we knew we had an excellent day in store. The children were able to complete a wide range of activities. They completed a heritage walk which focused on the Stone Age. The children were able to visit Baileys & Moates as well as Crannógs which brought what we have learnt in History to real life. The children were also given the opportunity to go on the paddles boats on the lakes and try and keep their balance in the water rollers. After lunch we visited the playground, pet farm and an array of bouncy castles. Its safe to say we all really enjoyed our day!
We made French Toast today.
