May 2022
Greetings Parents & Guardians,
This week is bike week (14th -22nd May), and we would love it if your child would try to cycle to school over the next few days. If your child doesn't have a bike or scooter you can walk or scoot instead.
We would also love it if you can try to cycle, walk or even scoot at the weekends if you have the time for example, around the block or in Donadea forest.
Please remember to wear a helmet when cycling.
Thanks for your support

February 2022
Hi everyone,
Green Schools here to update you with our February work.
The whole school is taking part in The Big Travel challenge by having as many children as possible walking to school for 10 days. It is starting on the 7th until the 18th of February. We are focusing on walking so if you could walk rather than drive that would be amazing! If you live further away from school, please try to park and stride.
We have also started our engine idling awareness campaign this month. Engine idling, what's that?
Engine idling is when you leave your car on BUT it is not going anywhere.
Here are 3 top reasons why you should not engine idle.
Protect children. Please remember our young lungs are still developing.
Save our environment by not polluting with car fumes
Save your money. The car is still burning fuel, which is costing you money.
Please remember to turn off your engines and not just for February
Our tip of the month is that old tyres can be recycled as a swing or borders for play areas and horse arenas.
Kind regards,
The Green Schools Committee

January 2022
Hello everyone,
This is the Green Schools Committee. We are in our 2nd year working towards our 7th green flag. We need your help to continue this work at home and at school. The theme is global citizenship and energy awareness.
Here are 10 tasks you can try your best to do at home and at school.
10 things you can do in your home to save our planet:
1 .Turn off lights when leaving a room
2. Keep curtains/shutters open to reduce the need to turn on a light
3. Do some planting in your garden
4 .When you turn off your TV, turn off the switches, otherwise you are still wasting electricity and paying for the energy
5. Use a lower setting for the washing machine
6. Make sure the driver turns off the car when they are waiting because it is much better for the environment
7. Have quick showers more than baths so you are saving water
8. If you can, walk to school, maybe with a friend or your siblings
9. Don’t leave running water on
10. Always remember the 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Our tip of the month:
Recycle your old clothes for rags to use at home or bag them up and give them to the charity shop. The charity shop can get money for your rags so you are recycling and giving to charity.
Thanks for helping
