Santa Visits Scoil an Linbh Íosa
On the last day of school before Christmas Santa took some time from his very busy schedule to visit all of the staff & children. The junior infants were the first to see Santa. They sang some songs and all asked if they were on the "nice list"! After visits from other classes, Santa, along with his busy elves walked around the school visiting the remainder of classes where he listened to lots of songs and even some music and rapping from some very talented children.
Santa was in great form and added to the fantastic Christmas spirit around the school.
Thank you Santa & Happy Christmas

Who are the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and what do we do?
The PTA are a voluntary organisation comprised of parents/guardians of children in the school and representatives from the teacher body and the Board of Management. We provide a forum for communication between the parent body, the school and the Board of Management. We also organise events and activities for the benefit of the children, parents/guardians and the school itself. These include (but are not limited to) parent talks, Christmas Grotto/Santa visit, book savings club, school photos, school swimming and the First Communion party. We also help facilitate the book sale in June each year. We fundraise to support our activities and the school (e.g. funding the purchase of equipment for classrooms). Our main form of fundraising to date has been our cake sales.
Why join the committee?
Being a member of the PTA committee gives parents/guardians a chance to be involved with what is happening in the school and to make a positive difference. There are also many social benefits; it’s a great chance to meet other parents, make new friends and have a bit of fun. Some of our events and activities are particularly enjoyable especially our cake sales and Christmas Grotto/Santa visit!
What is required of committee members?
We meet once a month, on the first Wednesday of each month. You don’t need any special skills or qualifications to join; the most important requirements are a bit of enthusiasm and a willingness to participate! If you don’t have the time be a committee member, you can volunteer as a helper to lend a helping hand at our activities/events depending on your availability. New members are always welcome and are elected to the committee at the AGM each September.
