Our annual Christmas concert is always a highly anticipated event among children, staff and parents alike. Each year the children in Junior Infants, First, Third and Fifth classes rehearse for weeks to put on a spectacular show for the audience. These preparations begin in November where the children sing, dance and act with great enthusiasm. Undoubtedly, a huge effort is needed to ensure everything is show perfect on the night and the children always come up trumps. This year is most certainly no different!
Junior Infants were first to the stage and entertained us with the play Forgetful Santa. Santa tended to forget all about the formalities of Christmas. Thankfully, all ended well and Christmas went off without a hitch!
After a set of wonderful songs and super acting from the Infants, First class took to the stage to depict the ever popular Ralph the Reindeer. Ralph was a very sick reindeer and the First class children 'tapped away' to get things sorted. Some wonderful singing was enjoyed by the audience.
The School Choir were up next and sang their hearts out with some beautiful hits. They carolled some of the songs they have prepared for Peace Proms, a couple of Christmas hits including a lovely rendition of Oíche Chiúin and they finished with a great hit from The Greatest Showman.
Fifth Class began the second part of the show with their performance Jack Frost Saves Christmas. Some wonderful singing and even more impressive acting ensued which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. Thankfully, Christmas was saved in the end!
Third class rounded off the evening with their interpretation of The Greatest Showman. With such amazing acting a props on stage, it felt just like the movie at times as the pupils sang, danced and acted their hearts out. What a way to close the show!
A great night was enjoyed by children, parents, performers and audience alike.
The countdown to Christmas has officially begun!
