The much anticipated annual Christmas Quiz, hosted by Scoil an Linbh Íosa went off without a hitch on Wednesday night, with 58 tables competing against each other, hoping to take the crown. The monies raised were being donated to St. Vincent de Paul.
A huge number of schools participated on the night from the surrounding areas. The quiz consisted of eight rounds of questions with 10 questions in each round. There were categories such as general knowledge, music, sport and pop culture. There were tense moments as the children deliberated over some tough questions. Scores were tight right from the first round and that showed as the final results were tallied.
In the end, four children from Miltown N.S team were victorious with points four to spare over those in second place with an immense 69 points. We had 3 teams placing in second place, all with a brilliant 65 points showing the tight competition.
All the children were delighted to get some treats at the end of the quiz and enjoyed the Christmas spirit that was evident in the hall. It was great to be able to donate the funds to such a worthy cause.
Well done to all the children who took part and made the night one to be remembered!
