Wednesday, 11th of April was a special day for the pupils and staff of Scoil and Linbh as we were graced with a visit from a Spanish Primary School including 28 students and four members of staff. The excitement levels were high among the students as they prepared some special activities from our foreign visitors.
These eleven and twelve year old students were on a five day trip to Ireland. The children come from the Spanish school - Manuel De Falla in the region of Jerez De La Frontera in Sevilla, Southern Spain. These student receive their communion in Fourth Class and are asked to save some of their communion money for their special trip to Ireland.
While visiting our country, they decided to visit our school. The 28 students who are in the equivalent of sixth class in Ireland visited us yesterday, with four adults - Their English and P.E teacher as well as the school secretary and her daughter. Upon arrival, the children partook in some orienteering around our school while being able to explore the various facilities we have to offer.
Once finished, the children then joined the third and fourth classes. They buddied up with some of our children and did some fun ice breaker games, art work and played some board games together. After sos, the fifth and sixth classes did a dance exhibition. They showed their hard work on traditional seán nós steps and the old brush dance.

To everyone's surprise, our Spanish visitors decided to show off their dancing skills by exhibiting a traditional Spanish dance along with some of their teachers to a rapturous applause from the Prosperous students.
Following on from this, our visitors were given a hurling and gaelic football display from the fifth and sixth classes. They showed them how to use the hurley, puk and ball and some basic skills. They then joined in a mini training session and played some games together.
Both the Prosperous children and the Children from Manuel De Falla thoroughly enjoyed their day together with some friendships even blossoming from the visit.
