Its been a busy few weeks for the soccer and gaelic teams of Scoil an Linbh Íosa with many training sessions and games being played. Our sixth class boys are in the middle of an 11-a-side soccer league while our U11 Boys Gaelic footballers have been busy training and competing in two matches.
Soccer
Our soccer boys were unlucky to lose their first game of the season last week. They were playing against a very similar kilcock side who got the upper hand towards the end of the match. The game ended 6-4 to our opponents but our boys were happy with their performance and have been training hard to improve and win their next game.

U11 Gaelic Football
Our under 11 boys have been busy playing the Cumann na mBunscol league the last couple of weeks. Our first game which was played in very wet conditions was against a strong Miltown side. We were narrowly defeated by a two point margin, 8pts - 6pts despite a gallant second half display leaving our opponents scoreless.
Last week we set out to play Gaelscoil Chill Dara and were beaten by the narrowest of margins - 1 point. This defeat was a tough one for our team who were leading for the majority of the match.
Today, at last, saw the result we deserved with a great win over Kilcock NS. We played our hearts out and now await the results of other fixtures to determine whether we progress to the semi-final stages. Keep your fingers crossed!
