On September 13th, Sarah from the Road Safety Authority visited the school to talk to all classes from Senior Infants to 6th Class.
The very informative talks included reminders of rules of the road and how to stay safe, such as the importance of wearing seat belts, high vis vests and wearing helmets when cycling.
Perhaps the most interesting fact imparted was that children are 300 times safer when wearing a high vis vest on the road. There was also more in depth discussion on cycle safety as well as reasons for sitting in the back seat when travelling.
Overall it was very engaging and many thanks to Sarah for coming to the school.
