What should be known as Coicíse na Gaeilge, we had a very very busy two weeks of all things Gaeilge. Thanks to the trojan work of Ms. Lowe, we were spoiled with daily activities for two weeks that finished with our amazing Céilí. Check out below for more details and pictures!
The fortnight held many surprises for our children. They were treated to shared reading as Gaeilge where the senior end of the school read stories to the junior end. There was an ongoing competition for speaking Gaeilge informally in the school where pupils were awarded with cártaí glas. The winners were presented with their prizes at the céilí.
Children learned songs and poems, practised dances for the céilí and the senior end of the school took part in a Tráth na gCéist.
Our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations ended with our usual céilí and were treated to dances and songs to keep us entertained. We also got to perform our staple dances - Rós sa Ghairdín, Ballaí Luimnigh & Ionsaí na hInse. Check out the photos below. I'm sure you are going to pick out a familiar face in the crowd!
