In conjunction with the the nationwide initiative Daffodil Day, we at Scoil an Linbh Íosa decided to partake in raising some much needed funds for the Irish Cancer society in our own special way. Each member coming to school on Friday wore a piece of yellow clothing with particular remembrance for our colleague, Ms. Kathy Casey.
Each teacher and child were asked to wear a piece of yellow clothing in support of all the wonderful work being done across the country to promote Cancer awareness. While doing so, we remembered our wonderful teacher, colleague and friend Ms. Casey. We believe that the yellow which engulfed the school on Friday was a true representation of Kathy's energetic, bubbly and inspirational spirit. It was a wonderful sight to see Scoil an Linbh Íosa awash with yellow while also raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society. In total, we raised over €2000 with €1500 going to the Irish Cancer Society and €500 to the national Daffodil Day organisers.
