Maths:
We are big maths fans in this classroom. We love active maths and solving problems. We enjoy station work that means we have lots of different activities in maths lessons. We really enjoyed data - we surveyed lots of children in our school and when we had our results, we created graphs that are proudly displayed outside our classroom for everyone to see. We also enjoyed learning about 2D shapes and lots of hands on activities for our learning. 

Ice Cream:
We were delighted to be invited by Spar to have some free ice cream. We walked down to enjoy this delicious treat and really enjoyed them!

Halloween:
We had a brilliant last day before the halloween break. We dressed up in our favourite costumes and completed our Witch and Wizard walk around the village of Prosperous. There were some scary creatures lurking about that day!

Art:
We really enjoy art lessons in our classroom. We are brilliant artists and have really enjoyed lessons like tonal painting, charcoal drawing and using clay. Check out our creations below!

Procedural Writing:
We have been working hard on procedural writing in recent weeks. We have learned the structure and one our pieces of writing was based on making rice krispie buns. Since we are now experts at the procedure, we had to put our skills to the test!

Songs & Poems:
We really enjoy learning through songs and poems. Check out two videos below of us performing 'Oh Susanna' and 'Mo Rothar!'

Happy Christmas!
To finish off this term we had a visit from Santa. We also visited Mr. Lehane's room where 6th class put on a Christmas performance for us.

We had a jersey day to raise funds for GOAL and we also were treated to ice cream from Spar - what a brilliant day!

Second class have been learning about gratitude and the importance of filling other peoples buckets. Being a bucket filler means showing love and kindness to those around you. The children sent letters home to their families letting them know how grateful they are for everything that they do for them each day! We learned that by being a bucket filler it actually fills up our own buckets too! Well done Second Class!

We were busy yesterday as the first of February rolled in and so too did a new season - Spring. But, there is even something more special about the 1st of February and that is St. Brigid's Day! We created our very own St. Brigid's crosses and went to mass in the morning where our crosses were blessed. Check out the picture below!
