December in Ms. Gaire’s classroom
The Junior & Senior Infants were so excited for the arrival of the month of December. It brought fun, festive cheer and a fantastic work ethic to our classroom. This month our classroom resembles Santa’s workshop as the children are working so hard to produce fabulous work.
At the start of the month, we focused on the season of Winter and made beautiful caps and Christmas jumpers to acknowledge the change in the weather. We learned about the seasonal changes between Autumn and Winter focusing on the changes in nature and the weather.

We spent time one afternoon decorating our classroom and Christmas tree while singing Christmas songs. Our class teddies, Buddy and Cuddles joined in on the fun.
During Aistear we made lovely snowglobes. We used the technique of pointillism to create nice Christmas scenes inside the snowglobes. We focused on our colouring, cutting and sticking skills by creating unique Christmas trees.
The Junior Infants had a busy month rehearsing for their show “Forgetful Santa.” They put on an amazing show with great singing and energetic dance moves!
