Our author study for January and February was Michael Morpurgo. None of us had never heard of him before but we grew to love his books. He had been a soldier and a farmer when he was younger and this is reflected in his books. He wrote lots of stories about farms and war that we loved reading. Second Class learned about volcanoes. We made clay models in art. We made them erupt using bread soda, vinegar and red food colouring. The result was really cool! Bhí rang a dó ag foghlaim faoi bheith ag déanamh brioscaí. D'foghlamar faoi na cómhábhair, scríobhamar amach an modh and chanamar an t-amhrán. Ansin, chuamar go dtí an chistin agus rinneamar brioscaí blasta. Éist Linn anseo agus féach ar na bpictiúrí thíos. We learned about St. Brigid and celebrated her feast day on February 1st. Ms. Casey read St. Brigid's Cloak to us and we sang We Sing a Song to Brigid. We used this as inspiration for our artwork and stuck it on our classroom door. Tuesday February 17th was Shrove or Pancake Tuesday. We learned what ingredients are used to make the batter and helped to weigh, measure, mix, pour, flip and decorate with yummy toppings. They were delicious! Comments are closed.
