The jars represent our minds, the glitter swirling around are our thoughts. Sometimes we have sad thoughts, sometimes happy thoughts and sometimes angry thoughts. It’s ok to have these thoughts but we can calm those thoughts and our bodies as well. One way to do this is to let your thoughts settle like the glitter in the jar. When our minds are calm it is easier to work out problems and talk about whatever it is that is causing us to be upset.
As part of mindfulness week/ month we created mindfulness jars. The jars contain glitter and food colouring. Shake the jar up until the glitter is spinning wildly. Then set it on a table and calmly watch until the glitter and your mind are all settled down The jars represent our minds, the glitter swirling around are our thoughts.
