The Department of Education & Skills is preparing a new digital strategy for schools. This strategy must address new policy opportunities arising from major developments in curricular reform, digital content and new technologies.
As part of the strategy development the Department are seeking the views of stakeholders. They have carried out a survey of teachers and principals, sought submissions from the public and held focus groups with students. The Department now wishes to hear the views of the parents.
The Department recognises that technology plays a big part in young people’s lives and that in many cases young people use technology more outside of the classroom.
NPC has been asked to pass this information on to parents to see if parents might be interested in particpating in one of the focus groups.
A number of sessions which are split into three categories (i) parents of Primary school children only (ii) parents of Post Primary school children only and (iii) parents of children attending special schools only will take place across the country. Details can be found here
