Ms. Mahoney's Junior Infants have had a busy September and October. In September the children settled in and got to know one another. They began to explore different subjects with Aistear being their favourite each week. In September our focus in Aistear was on 'The Home'. The children played in the house in role play, painted their home, played with the doll houses and built some fantastic homes too. Junior Infants loved celebrating Halloween in school. Caoimhe's dad kindly sent in a range of pumpkin and squash. Everyone loved touching and lifting the vegetables. The children enjoyed Halloween Aistear too. The role play area was turned into a witches house with broomsticks, cauldrons and magic spells. The children made potions with water, they played with our spooky haunted house and they also painted a witch. In Irish the children were learning about 'bairín breac'. The children chose to try some breac and there was great excitement when we discovered who had the ring. On the last day of term the children dressed up in their Halloween costumes and there was a parade on the yard. October has been a busy months as we learned about our school, autumn & halloween. We even took some time to plant spring bulbs in the garden with Gerry! Have a look at all the fun we’ve had learning & playing together this month! We had a super day dressed up for Halloween! We even went for a witch & wizard wander in the the yard to show off our costumes! Have a spooktacular midterm break boys & girls!!! |
