Junior Infants have had a great month settling in to Junior Infants. They revised Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Black Sheep and Hickory Dickory Dock in literacy. They've worked hard on 3D shapes and matching in Maths. They have learned lots of new Irish words such as the parts of their bodies, Dia Dhuit and items around the classroom. They have played games in the PE hall, played with toys in Aistear, learned about homes in Geography and discussed their families in History. They learned about electricity in Science and they discussed how they are very special and unique in SPHE. Watch out for our monthly update on this blog! We have had a busy month of September in our classroom. We visited our school playground, have been busy working on our fine motor skills, enjoying Aistear and completing lots of lovely art activities that are on display outside our classroom for the entire school to see! Welcome to our class blog. Here you’ll have a look behind the scenes of the Junior Infants in action. We are having lots of fun getting to know each other and learning lots of new things. We’ve been playfully exploring our maths equipment, learning all about houses and homes through Aistear (play based methodology), singing nursery rhymes and working hard on our fine motor skills ( building our finger muscles). Check in for monthly updates. We wish you an amazing first year in Junior Infants! |
