A fun-filled and an action packed day was certainly had by all, including teacher! The children had a very enjoyable day climbing frames, bouncing on trampolines, zip lining, go-karting and the highlight of the day, sliding down the water slides!! And best of all, Mr sun came out to say hello too! There were smiles all round and sleepy children en route back to school. The boys and girls dressed up in green for Green Schools Day. They really enjoyed going to the stalls which were run by the sixth class students. There was nail painting, face painting, penalty shoot out competitions, freshly baked goodies, obstacle courses, skooters and go- karting, to name but at few. No doubt all the pocket money was spent! Later on in the afternoon some of the children from room 12 took part in the 'Trashion Show' which was run by the Green Schools Committee. These children made a fabulous outfit out of recyclable materials. The sun came out and we all enjoyed watching the Trashion Show and cheering on our classmates. Well done everybody!
The children in room 12 were very busy preparing poems, stories, songs and raps for National Walk to School Day. Well done boys and girls on all your hard work. Have a listen!
We made pinch pots using clay. We then used our imaginations to create a 'strange creature' that you might find in the jungle. We had lots of fun creating and painting our clay pieces.
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day!!We had great fun in room 12 making St. Patrick's Day hats and cards. We danced the day away at the céilí in the halla!!
Vincent Van Gogh- The Starry NightWe have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh in art. Take a look at 'Our Starry Night'. Room 12 is giving Van Gogh a run for his money! We made a large class collage of 'The Starry Night' by tearing up tiny pieces of paper and then the children painted their own version of the 'The Starry Night'.
The children in room 12 have been very busy 'exploring' and learning all about the South Pole. The children enjoyed painting pictures of the South Pole and printing penguins using potatoes! Take a look. The children researched and wrote about the South Pole for their projects. They worked very hard on their projects. Well done boys and girls! We learnt about two brave explorers who wanted to explore the South Pole. Ernest Shackleton was born in county Kildare! Ernest Shackleton Tom Crean
