There's no better way to end a great year in first class than to make rice krispie buns together. Our day began with skipping, hula hooping and hurling in the fantastic sunshine. We then had a much needed break before we tackled throwing activities, hockey and the much awaited fun races. After lunch, we completed an obstacle course, danced, tug- of-war and even squeezed in a penalty shoot out before home. Thanks to the 6th class for all their help, it was a great day. Although there was a showery start to the morning, it didn't dampen the spirits of the first class children. Everyone got lots of exercise running from one exciting activity to the next at Fort Lucan. Ms. Lowe, also got lots of exercise trying to capture as many memories as possible. Great fun was had by all and the sun even came out to reflect the mood. To celebrate being a green school, we planted pansies and violas into pots. It was dirty work but we didn't care! We had great fun planting and watering our pretty flowers. After our planting we had to tidy up the mess we made in the courtyard. In the afternoon, we shopped until we dropped in the P.E. hall. The 6th class had a variety of exciting stalls selling unwanted toys, delicious treats as well as face and nail painting. We then enjoyed the sunshine while we watched the Trashion show. The costumes were all made using recycled or reused materials. We used the primary colours to mix our own secondary colours. It was great fun mixing the paints to make new colours.
There really are forty shades of green! We all worked hard to perfect our dance moves for the Céilí.
We dressed up as a character from one of our favourite books. Can you guess what character we are dressed as ? The children took it in turns to talk about their character and answer questions from classmates.
