Christmas came early in 5th class this week as a large number of new books were ordered and delivered right to our classroom. Last Wednesday, the 12th of December, amidst the excitement of the Christmas play, we greeted the knock on the door with a cheer to see books of various genres arrive for our enjoyment. To celebrate, we changed our classroom into the café ‘Starbooks’ on Thursday for one morning only and got to taste the different types of books that we may never have even thought of reading! So many of us found pleasure in geography, science and different fiction books that we look forward to reading in the New Year. We want to wish a big thank you to Ms. Shanley for allowing us get so many new books for our classroom library. As November is the month of Remembrance we made a remembrance tree. We wrote stories and memories about those belonging to us that are no longer with us. We now have this tree on display outside our classroom for everyone to see and as a nice reminder of our loved ones as we walk in the corridor. Have a look at our creation below:
