Happy Christmas from First Class!
The children in Ms. Gaire’s class have been working hard and happily throughout the first term of the school year. For the first fortnight, we spent time getting to know each other and form close friendships. Have a look at our first class photograph and our Class Tree. We created artwork based on the quote: ‘’In the whole wide world with everyone in it, I am one of a kind and the sky is the limit.’’ Our goal for the school year is to try our best and reach our potential. We like doing Art lessons every Friday. We created many masterpieces throughout the term. Check out our work! Sometimes after each Maths topic we enjoy doing station work. We particularly enjoyed station work on the topics of Number and 2D Shapes. In First Class we focus on neat handwriting. Two Handwriting Competitions took place this term. Niall, Aidan, Keeva and Sarah were the winners of the Autumn handwriting competition. Damien, Conor, Leah and Tadhg were the winners of the Winter handwriting competition. We enjoy dressing up to celebrate various occasions. In October, we dressed up for the Witch & Wizard walk around the village to celebrate Halloween. In November, we dressed up to portray the theme of Easter for the school calendar photoshoot. In December, we dressed up as various characters for our show “Into The Woods.” When we work hard in school, we are rewarded with stars on our Group Charts. When we have great accomplishments and fantastic achievements, we are rewarded with a leaf on our Class Achievement Tree. When we earned 10 leaves on our Achievement Tree, we had a Popcorn Party to celebrate our success. Ms. Gaire rewards us with Golden Time on Fridays for great behaviour. Here are some photographs of us enjoying free play in the school playground. Happy Christmas from First Class! Comments are closed.
