We celebrated Grandparents' Day by sharing stories and making cards. We are very lucky to have such super grandparents 💜 Australia Projects Busy day today - we voted this morning and presented our projects in the afternoon. We enjoyed learning about Australia, especially the different types of animals Poetry week Inspired by others, we wrote our own poems. Listening to them is highly recommended. Enjoy Maths Even though tangrams were created about 4,000 years ago, we LOVED using them to create shapes and our own designs. Can you guess what they are? Well done to the 12 courageous Student Council candidates who gave their interesting speeches on Friday 12th November in Ms. Lowe's room. All worthy of a place on the Student Council 👏👏 Best of luck to you all. It's time for a student council election and we have four excellent candidates in the running in our classroom. They made some excellent speeches and we have huge respect for them for getting up in front of their classmates to tell us what they want the future of our school to be like. Well done everybody! Congratulations and very well done to all the children who participated in the Intel Mini Scientist Competition. A wide variety of interesting topics were investigated from binary code to oobleck. Congratulations to Eve and Muireann from Ms Rogers’ 5th Class who will be representing the school in this years Mini Scientist Competition with their project “How to Help Save the Planet with Plant Based Fertilisers”. Well done
We have been so lucky to be working with Mr. Molloy on coding recently and have learned so much. We worked on coding using the MakeCode platform. Check us out below! Over the past 6 weeks, Mr. Molloy worked with Ms. Lowe's class on coding using the MakeCode platform. There are definitely many budding computer scientists in the class, with children successfully completing tasks such as setting the conditions for variables and using a micro:bit to send and receive messages via radio using Bluetooth. As part of our tasks we also played games and completed a research project. Pairs chose an endangered animal to research and presented their findings to the class. We also got to construct a model of our animals habitat using recycled materials. Ms.Lowe's class really enjoyed this experience. A big THANK YOU again to Mr. Molloy 👏 National Tree Day- Ms. Lowe's class planted Wild Cherry Trees. We also learned facts about The Hawthorn Tree and did some planting with Gerry in the polytunnel. Halloween in our Class Happy Halloween everybody!! We had a great day in school before our midterm break! Check us out below! |
